Lokesh Expresses Lifelong Gratitude to Karnataka Telugus for Backing During Naidu's Arrest

In a heartfelt address, Andhra Pradesh Education Minister Nara Lokesh extended profound thanks to the Telugu community residing in Karnataka for their unwavering support during the arrest of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu. Speaking at a public meeting after inaugurating the Sri Krishnadevaraya Sainik School in Raichur district, Lokesh emphasized that his family would remain indebted to them for life, highlighting the emotional bond forged during challenging times.

Rallies and Support as a Source of Strength

Lokesh recounted how Telugus in regions such as Sindhanur, Raichur, and Gangavathi organized rallies in response to what he described as the "unlawful arrest" of Naidu when he served as the opposition leader. He praised their actions, stating that this solidarity provided immense strength to his family, reinforcing the deep cultural and political ties between the communities across state borders.

Inauguration of Sainik School and Emphasis on Education

The inauguration ceremony was conducted alongside Union Steel Minister H D Kumaraswamy and Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth. Lokesh used the platform to underscore the importance of remembering soldiers' sacrifices, urging students to dream ambitiously and pursue their goals with relentless determination. He advised that setbacks, including academic failures, should be viewed as valuable learning experiences rather than causes for despair, promoting a resilient mindset among the youth.

Centre-State Cooperation and Industrial Development

Addressing broader governance issues, Lokesh emphasized that healthy competition between states accelerates overall development. He credited Kumaraswamy for opposing the privatization of the Visakhapatnam steel plant and supporting significant industrial investments in Andhra Pradesh, such as a green steel plant in Anakapalli, showcasing collaborative efforts for economic growth.

Earlier Tributes and Statue Unveiling

Earlier in the day, Lokesh unveiled a bronze statue of NT Rama Rao at the Telugu Sangham kalyana mandapam in Sindhanur, paying homage to the legendary leader and reinforcing cultural heritage among the Telugu diaspora in Karnataka.
