Nashik ZP Students Embark on Educational Delhi Tour After Academic Competition Victories

Fifteen students from Zilla Parishad schools in Nashik, who emerged as winners in Spelling Bee and Maths Bee contests, recently completed an enriching educational tour to Delhi from March 16 to 18. The fully-funded 'Dnyanyatri' initiative, organized by the Nashik Zilla Parishad, aimed to provide exposure to national institutions and extend learning beyond traditional classroom boundaries.

Selection Process and Travel Details

The students, ranging from Standards V to VIII, earned their selection through the prestigious ZP President's Cup competitions. Among the fifteen participants, twelve were Spelling Bee champions and three were Maths Bee winners. They were accompanied by four dedicated staff members throughout the journey.

For many participants hailing from remote villages, the tour represented numerous first-time experiences. The adventure began with their inaugural flight from Nashik's Ozar Airport to the national capital, marking a significant milestone in their young lives.

Conceptualization and Support

The innovative 'Dnyanyatri' initiative was conceptualized by Nashik Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Omkar Pawar, who emphasized the program's educational purpose. "Students from rural areas possess immense potential but often lack adequate guidance. This tour was held to help bridge this gap," Pawar stated, highlighting the initiative's core mission.

The program received crucial support from Nashik MP Rajabhau Waje, who not only facilitated the tour but also hosted the students at his official residence in Delhi, providing them with valuable insights into political life.

Historical and National Landmarks Visited

During their three-day educational journey, the students explored several places of historical and national importance:

  • Raj Ghat, the memorial dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi
  • Kisan Ghat, honoring former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh

The tour's highlight was undoubtedly the visit to Parliament, where students observed the Budget Session proceedings in the new Parliament building. They also toured the 'Samvidhan Bhavan' (Old Parliament House) and the historic Central Hall.

The young achievers received valuable guidance from MPs Rajabhau Waje and Bhaskar Bhagare, and had the unique opportunity to interact with several prominent political figures:
