Noida Government Schools Commence New Academic Year with Major Infrastructure Overhaul
Government schools across Noida are set to begin the new academic session on Wednesday with significantly enhanced infrastructure, following a substantial investment of Rs 7 crore in improvements. This initiative comes in response to persistent reports of students sitting on floors due to severe space constraints and multiple classes being conducted simultaneously in single rooms.
Expanding Capacity with New Classrooms
Authorities have constructed at least 39 new classrooms across 35 schools located in four different blocks of the city. This expansion is specifically designed to accommodate the growing number of students, driven by steadily increasing enrolment rates. Education officials have confirmed that each grade will now benefit from a dedicated teaching space, effectively reducing overcrowding and creating more conducive learning environments.
"Due to the continuous increase in enrolment, many schools were running two classes in one room, which negatively impacted teaching quality," explained Rahul Panwar, Basic Education Officer for Noida. "The new classrooms will facilitate proper scheduling and lead to better learning outcomes for all students."
Supporting Technology-Enabled Learning Initiatives
The newly constructed spaces are not merely additional rooms; they are strategically designed to support smart classrooms, ICT labs, and various other technology-enabled learning programs planned for the upcoming session. Some of these areas will be exclusively utilized for implementing digital learning modules, reflecting a forward-thinking approach to modern education.
Education department officials emphasized that schools are simultaneously being equipped with essential furniture, advanced teaching aids, and comprehensive ICT infrastructure. These efforts are part of a broader strategy to develop model government schools and elevate academic standards across the district.
Addressing Textbook Distribution and Future Plans
In preparation for the new session, textbooks have already been distributed to students—a welcome change from previous years. "It is excellent that books are being provided in advance this year," remarked a government school teacher. "Previously, students often faced academic setbacks during the initial weeks while waiting for their textbooks to arrive."
The rise in admissions has been particularly noticeable in blocks such as Bisrakh and Dadri, where thousands of new students have enrolled in recent academic sessions. Looking ahead, officials have submitted proposals to repair or rebuild aging school buildings in the upcoming financial year. Additional infrastructure work is anticipated once these funds receive approval, with dilapidated structures in certain schools already being vacated for safety reasons.
This comprehensive infrastructure upgrade represents a significant step toward improving educational facilities and ensuring that Noida's government schools can meet the demands of a growing student population while embracing modern teaching methodologies.
