NSUI Accuses Nagpur University of Serious Administrative Failures Over Delayed Exam Results
In a significant development, the National Students Union of India (NSUI) has leveled serious allegations against Nagpur University, citing administrative lapses and irregularities that have left more than 600 examination results pending. The delay, according to NSUI, is severely affecting the academic future of thousands of students, raising concerns about governance and accountability at the institution.
Press Conference Highlights Unaddressed Grievances
Addressing a press conference on Saturday, NSUI representatives accused the university's vice-chancellor of failing to respond to repeated complaints. They claimed that instead of taking corrective action, the vice-chancellor has been misleading students and the media. The student body revealed that multiple letters detailing grievances were sent between December 2025 and March 2026, but none received any response, exacerbating the situation.
Demands for Immediate Inquiry and Investigation
Among the key demands put forth by NSUI are:
- An immediate inquiry into alleged illegal activities within the university campus.
- A fair investigation into the eligibility and experience of Coempt Eduteck Pvt Ltd, the agency appointed for examination-related work.
- Regular audits of university funds and fees collected from students to prevent misuse and potential financial irregularities.
The organization noted that while an inquiry committee was initially promised, it was never constituted, further undermining trust in the university's administration.
Vacant Positions and Governance Issues
NSUI also pointed out that several critical positions at Nagpur University remain vacant, including those of pro-vice-chancellor, heads of departments, faculty members, and other administrative roles. These vacancies are reportedly affecting both governance and academic functioning, contributing to the delays in result processing and overall inefficiency.
The situation has sparked widespread concern among students and stakeholders, with NSUI urging swift action to address these issues and safeguard the educational interests of those affected.
