Odisha CHSE Initiates Two-Phase Evaluation for Class XII Board Exams
The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha, has officially launched the evaluation process for Class XII board exam answer scripts, starting Thursday. This comprehensive assessment will unfold in two distinct phases, extending through April 26, as confirmed by official sources.
Detailed Timeline and Scale of Evaluation
The first phase of evaluation is scheduled to continue until April 13, followed by the second phase running from April 15 to April 26. In total, answer papers from approximately 3.96 lakh students will be meticulously assessed during these periods. CHSE exam controller Prashant Parida emphasized that the annual higher secondary examinations concluded without any disruptions, paving the way for a smooth evaluation process.
A workforce of 16,494 evaluators has been mobilized to undertake this critical task. Parida expressed confidence, stating, "We hope that this assessment will be over within the designated timeframe." The evaluation encompasses a diverse range of subjects, with online assessment centers playing a pivotal role.
Online and Offline Evaluation Centers Under Surveillance
Parida detailed the operational setup, noting that answer scripts for subjects in the science, commerce streams, and vocational studies will be evaluated online across 75 dedicated centers. Additionally, the English paper from the arts stream will also undergo online evaluation. For offline assessment, 76 centers have been established to handle the remaining papers.
To ensure integrity and accuracy, all evaluation centers, both online and offline, are equipped with CCTV surveillance. Zone supervisors have been appointed to oversee the entire evaluation process, adhering to a standardized evaluation manual provided by CHSE. This structured approach aims to maintain consistency and fairness in scoring.
Anticipated Results and Alignment with National Exams
Sources indicate that the results of the Class XII board exams are projected to be published in May. This timeline is strategically planned to enable students to prepare for and participate in various national-level entrance examinations without delay.
Parallel Progress in Class X Board Exam Evaluation
In a related development, the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, has nearly completed the evaluation of Class X board exam answer scripts. BSE president Srikant Tarai announced on Thursday that the results for Class X are expected to be released in the first or second week of May.
Tarai highlighted that the evaluation work commenced on March 19, and over 95% of the answer scripts had been assessed by Thursday. He assured, "We will complete the remaining evaluation within a few days, after which we will process the results for publication."
Emphasizing the diligence of the process, Tarai noted that the evaluation has been conducted error-free, supported by monitoring squads deployed to evaluation centers. He personally visited several centers to ensure proper oversight, and mentioned that this year's evaluation is set to conclude a week earlier than previous schedules, reflecting improved efficiency.
