Parents' Association Sounds Alarm on School Safety and Regulatory Oversight in Rajasthan
The Sanyukt Abhibhavak Sangh, a prominent parents' body in Rajasthan, has voiced serious concerns regarding the Rajasthan High Court's interim stay on CBSE action against Neerja Modi School. The association asserts that this issue transcends mere affiliation matters and directly jeopardizes student safety, future prospects, and education standards.
Court's Interim Relief and Conditions
On Wednesday, the high court granted interim relief to the school by staying the operation of the CBSE order that restricted its senior secondary affiliation. The court issued specific directives:
- The school must rectify all identified deficiencies within one month.
- CBSE is required to conduct a fresh inspection after 45 days.
- The board retains the liberty to approach the court again if shortcomings persist.
This legal intervention has sparked a heated debate among stakeholders, with parents demanding greater accountability.
Parents' Body Calls for Transparent Inquiry
The parents' association emphasized that the CBSE's initial action was based on serious irregularities and deficiencies at the school. They are calling for a fair and transparent inquiry to ensure all issues are thoroughly addressed before any compromises are made regarding students' interests.
Abhishek Jain Bittu, the state spokesperson for the association, stated, "Our focus is that student safety must remain the top priority. Past incidents have already weakened parents' trust, and that trust can only be restored through visible corrective action." He further added that if systemic flaws exist in any institution, rectifying them should take precedence over temporary relief measures.
Warning of Agitation and Broader Implications
The association issued a stern warning, declaring that parents will not tolerate any negligence or compromise on student safety, mental well-being, or quality of education. If their concerns are ignored, the group plans to launch a statewide agitation, highlighting growing unease among parents over regulatory oversight and accountability in schools.
This situation underscores a broader issue in the education sector, where parental trust is increasingly being tested by perceived lapses in safety and standards. The association's stance reflects a demand for more robust mechanisms to ensure that educational institutions adhere to stringent norms, prioritizing student welfare above all else.
