PM Modi's Pariksha Pe Charcha 2024: A Unique Dialogue on Brahmaputra Vessel
PM Modi to hold Pariksha Pe Charcha on Brahmaputra vessel

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is preparing for a distinctive edition of his renowned student interaction program, Pariksha Pe Charcha. This year's event will break from tradition by being held on the moving waters of the Brahmaputra River in Guwahati.

A Floating Venue on the Mighty Brahmaputra

The unique dialogue is scheduled for Sunday morning, December 21, at 8 am. The Prime Minister will engage with a select group of students aboard the Charaidew vessel, a floating watercraft named after the historic Charaideo heritage site of Assam. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed that the vessel will be in motion during the interaction, providing a dynamic and scenic backdrop for the discussion.

The vessel is currently docked at the modern Guwahati Gateway Terminal, located on the southern bank of the Brahmaputra near Fancy Bazar. This terminal, which has attracted significant public attention, will serve as the boarding point for PM Modi. The entire area, including the vessel, is under stringent security protocols in preparation for the high-profile event.

Students Gear Up with Questions and Excitement

Among the 25 students chosen for this special interaction is Arpita Das, a student from North Guwahati Girls’ High School. Expressing her enthusiasm, Arpita revealed her line of questioning for the Prime Minister. "In a technology-driven world, my focus will be on whether he will make computers integral and compulsory for all students," she stated. Arpita also plans to seek tips on enjoying examinations, drawing inspiration from PM Modi's book "Exam Warriors," which encourages students to view exams as festivals.

The participant list is diverse, encompassing students from private, government, and central government schools, as noted by Dipika Choudhury, the Kamrup (Metro) inspector of schools. She emphasized that the program will showcase talented students who have excelled and received recognition at state and national levels.

Blending Education with Assam's Heritage and Environment

The event is thoughtfully designed to highlight local culture and environmental consciousness. The Charaidew vessel's name itself pays homage to Assam's rich history. The interaction will be framed by the picturesque view of the Umananda Temple on the river.

Krishna Ram Saikia, the headmaster of Arpita Das's school, highlighted their institution's nationally recognized efforts in environmental sustainability and conservation, suggesting that such values align with the spirit of the event. This setting transforms Pariksha Pe Charcha from a simple Q&A session into a symbolic journey, merging the themes of academic preparation, cultural pride, and connection with nature.

This innovative approach by the Prime Minister's Office aims to create a memorable and inspiring experience for the young participants, using Assam's iconic riverine landscape to foster an open and relaxed conversation about exam stress, preparation, and the joy of learning.
