UP Schools Defy Winter Vacation Order, Face Action in Firozabad
Private Schools Ignore UP Govt's Winter Break Directive

In a clear violation of a state government directive, several private schools in Uttar Pradesh's Firozabad district chose to remain open, conducting regular classes despite an official order declaring winter vacations. The decision was taken by the Uttar Pradesh government in light of the dense fog and severe cold wave conditions gripping the state.

Government Order Defied by Private Institutions

The state administration had mandated the closure of all schools up to class 12 until January 1. This order was uniformly applicable to all educational boards operating within the state, including the UP Board, CBSE, and ICSE. The primary reason cited was the prevailing severe cold wave and dense fog, which pose significant health and safety risks to children commuting to and attending school.

Education Department Cracks Down with Notices

The district education authorities swiftly moved against the erring schools. Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) Ashish Pandey confirmed that notices have been issued to the private schools that remained operational in defiance of the government's instructions. Pandey emphasized a zero-tolerance policy towards such violations.

"Violation of government directives would not be tolerated under any circumstances," stated BSA Pandey. He further clarified that the department has sought explanations from the concerned schools. "If the explanations submitted by the schools are found unsatisfactory, strict action will be taken as per the rules," he added, underscoring the seriousness of the matter.

Student Safety Declared Top Priority

The education department's stance is firmly rooted in concerns for student welfare. Officials have labeled the act of opening schools during such harsh weather as a direct threat to children's health. "Safety of children is the department's top priority. Opening schools amid severe cold and fog is a direct risk to students' health," Pandey asserted. The action highlights the administration's commitment to enforcing rules designed to protect young students from the adverse effects of the extreme winter conditions.

The incident in Firozabad district serves as a reminder to all educational institutions across Uttar Pradesh to adhere strictly to government advisories issued for the well-being of their students.
