Railway Recruitment 2025: CBT-1 Exam Dates Announced for Undergraduate Posts
The Ministry of Railways has officially released the tentative examination schedule for the Computer Based Test (CBT-1) under the CEN 07/2025 notification for Non-Technical Popular Categories at the undergraduate level. This crucial recruitment drive will be administered by the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) across numerous examination centers throughout the country.
Examination Schedule and Phases
According to the detailed notification, the CBT-1 examination for undergraduate-level positions will be conducted in multiple phases spanning the months of May and June 2025. This examination forms a fundamental component of the extensive recruitment campaign for various non-technical roles within the Indian Railways network.
The official schedule specifies that the CBT-1 will commence on May 07, 08, and 09, 2025. Following this initial phase, the examination will resume with additional dates on June 13 and 14, 2025, and continue from June 16 through June 21, 2025.
City Details and Travel Authority Documents
Candidates will have the opportunity to verify their allotted examination city and specific date through a dedicated online link. This portal will be activated precisely 10 days prior to their respective examination dates. The same official platform will also facilitate eligible candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) categories to download their necessary travel authority documents for examination attendance.
The Railway Recruitment Boards have emphasized that all such critical information will be accessible exclusively through their official websites, and candidates should avoid relying on any unofficial sources.
Call Letter Release and Entry Requirements
Electronic call letters (e-call letters) for the examination will be made available for download four days before the candidate's scheduled examination date. It is mandatory for all candidates to download and carry a printed copy of this call letter along with valid, original identification documents to gain entry into the designated examination center.
A significant security measure involves Aadhaar-linked biometric authentication, which will be conducted at the test venue before candidates are permitted to enter the examination hall. Individuals must carry either their original Aadhaar card or a printout of an e-verified Aadhaar document for this verification process.
Aadhaar Compliance and Verification Guidelines
Candidates have been strongly advised to ensure that all their Aadhaar details are accurate and fully updated. This includes verifying the correctness of their name, date of birth (as per their Class 10 certificate), latest photograph, current address, and father's name. Authorities have also instructed candidates to keep their Aadhaar status unlocked in the UIDAI system on the actual day of their examination.
Even candidates who completed Aadhaar verification during the initial application process have been asked to recheck their status meticulously to prevent any unnecessary delays during the entry and registration procedures at the examination center.
Official Advisory Against Misinformation
The Railway Recruitment Boards have issued a clear caution to all candidates, urging them to depend solely on official websites for any updates or information related to the recruitment process. The notice explicitly warns against fraudulent agents or touts who may offer false job assurances in exchange for money.
Officials have reiterated that the selection process is strictly based on performance in the Computer Based Test, with no alternative methods of recruitment being followed or recognized by the authorities. Candidates are encouraged to prepare diligently and follow only official communication channels.
