Schools Embrace Festive Cheer with Performances and Santa
The celebrations featured a vibrant array of activities including special assemblies, Christmas carol singing, and cultural programmes. A highlight across many venues were skits depicting the birth of Jesus Christ and cheerful visits by students dressed as Santa Claus, who spread happiness and the spirit of sharing.
At Oxford Public School, special Christmas and New Year celebrations were organised for the younger students from Nursery to Class V. The audience was enthralled by performances that depicted the birth of Jesus Christ, alongside colourful dance presentations and melodious songs.
St Michael’s Public School in New Ashok Nagar echoed with carols sung by students. Many children dressed up as Santa Claus, adding to the merry atmosphere. The school director, Deepak Kumar Sinha, conveyed Christmas greetings to students, parents, and teachers, urging everyone to embrace the core values of love, peace, and service.
University Gathering Focuses on Christ's Teachings
Beyond schools, higher education institutions also marked the occasion. At Sarala Birla University, a Christmas gathering was organised by the Mahadevi Birla Institute of Nursing and Clinical Technology. The event had a reflective tone, with experts highlighting the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. They emphasised timeless values such as love, compassion, forgiveness, service, and humanity. Students also presented cultural performances to celebrate the day.
Winter Carnival and Joyful Learning Initiatives
DAV Public School in Bariatu took a creative approach by celebrating a winter carnival for its youngest learners from Nursery to Class II. Children showcased their creativity through art and participated in fun games. The event also served as a platform to spread important messages about environmental protection and social values.
Principal Sanjay Kumar Mishra remarked on the importance of such activities, stating, "Such activities sensitise students to life values through joyful learning."
Similarly, at Cambrian Public School, the festive spirit was embodied by students dressed as Santa Claus who exchanged gifts, effectively spreading happiness and reinforcing the joy of sharing within the school community.
