Sri Ram Narayan Singh Memorial High School Hosts Vibrant 'Jhankriti 2025' Cultural Concert

The annual cultural extravaganza, 'Jhankriti 2025', organized by Sri Ram Narayan Singh Memorial High School, was successfully held at the prestigious Kala Mandir auditorium in Kolkata. This two-day event drew notable personalities from the education and performing arts sectors, celebrating the theme 'Bengal' to highlight the state's harmony, diversity, and rich cultural tapestry.

Day One: Primary Section Takes Center Stage

The inaugural day featured captivating performances by students from the primary section. The event was graced by chief guest Mahua Mukherjee, a renowned Indian classical dance exponent, and Keya Sinha, the academic director of National Gems Higher Secondary School. The ceremony commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp by dignitaries, including Usha Singh, principal and secretary of Sri Ram Narayan Singh Memorial High School on Simla Street, and Puja Mehra, principal of the school's Rajdanga branch.

Day Two: Senior Students Showcase Artistic Prowess

The second day spotlighted performances by senior section students, with Madhuri Majumdar, an author and former teacher-in-charge of dance at Rabindra Bharati University, serving as chief guest. Manisha Murali Nair, a celebrated Rabindra Sangeet singer, was the guest of honour. The programme began with devotional offerings, including Durga Vandana and Shiv-Parvati Vandana, followed by thematic performances that traced Bengal's cultural and historical journey.

Senior students delivered impressive acts such as:

  1. The band presentation 'Jhankar'
  2. The dance drama 'Chandalika'
  3. A political satire called 'Bhed aur Bhediya'
  4. An adaptation of Shakespeare's 'Julius Caesar'

The concert culminated with 'Aahvan', a powerful dance performance advocating for women's empowerment. Puja Mehra presented the school's annual report, outlining key achievements. Additionally, ICSE and ISC toppers were felicitated with cheques worth up to Rs 15,000 each.

Madhuri Majumdar applauded the students' dedication, while Manisha Murali Nair appreciated the unwavering support and guidance from teachers and parents. Throughout both days, performances paid special tributes to legends like Salil Chowdhury and Raj Kapoor, featuring a mix of dance, drama, and live music that captivated the audience.
