Hemant Soren Inaugurates Free JEE & NEET Coaching in Ranchi for 300 Students
Soren Launches Free JEE, NEET Coaching Institute in Ranchi

In a significant push to democratize access to premier coaching within Jharkhand, Chief Minister Hemant Soren inaugurated the Dishom Guru Shibu Soren Engineering (JEE) and Medical (NEET) Coaching Institute at Adivasi Maidan in Hindpiri, Ranchi, on Monday. This state-backed initiative is designed to provide structured, high-quality, and completely free academic guidance to approximately 300 aspirants preparing for the fiercely competitive national entrance examinations.

Bridging the Educational Gap for Meritorious Students

The chief minister, while addressing the gathering, emphasized that the core objective of this institute is to ensure that talented students from Jharkhand are no longer forced to migrate to other states like Kota or Delhi for quality coaching. He stated that the facility has a special focus on empowering students from Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes, backward classes, and minority communities, thereby levelling the playing field.

"The state's youth will now be able to realise their dreams without leaving the state. Our children will now get high-quality JEE and NEET coaching right here in Ranchi," Hemant Soren declared. He described the new institute not just as an educational centre but as a symbol of social and cultural unity, appealing to students to respect and share their diverse languages and traditions to strengthen collective identity.

A Holistic Approach: Second Chances and Sports

Going beyond conventional coaching, the Chief Minister put forward a progressive suggestion for providing a second chance to deserving candidates who narrowly miss the qualifying marks in ability tests due to situational factors. He argued that such a measure would be just, motivating, and help broaden the talent pool for these exams.

Furthermore, Hemant Soren stressed the importance of strengthening sports facilities alongside academics at the institute. He urged teachers to foster self-belief and healthy competition among students, aiming for excellence at both state and national levels.

Flagship Schemes and Broader Educational Vision

During the event, the CM also highlighted his government's other key educational welfare schemes, showcasing a comprehensive approach to youth empowerment. These initiatives include:

  • The Savitribai Phule Kishori Samriddhi Yojana.
  • Extensive pre and post-matric scholarship schemes.
  • The establishment of 80 model schools across the state.
  • The Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Munda Overseas Scholarship Scheme.
  • The Guruji Credit Card Scheme, which facilitates education loans of up to Rs 15 lakh for students.

He also informed the audience that specialized coaching for medical entrance exams is being provided to selected students at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi, complementing the new institute's efforts.

The inauguration ceremony was marked by personal tributes as CM Hemant Soren unveiled a statue of his father, Dishom Guru Shibu Soren, and paid floral respects. He later took a tour of the institute's premises, interacting directly with students and encouraging them to pursue their academic goals with confidence and determination.
