Introduction of Improvement Exams and Future Steps

This year, CBSE introduced a new system of two board exams for students, with the second exam serving as an improvement opportunity. Students can enhance their scores in a maximum of three subjects through this mechanism. With the results now announced, the board has instructed schools to expedite the finalisation of candidate lists for the second exam, with the process scheduled to run from April 16 to 22.

School principals anticipate a high enrollment for improvement in mathematics, citing a decline in average scores and centums for the subject nationwide. "Already, more than 60 students have expressed interest. Over the next five days, we expect this number to increase significantly for mathematics," said P G Subramanian, principal of Bhavan's Rajaji Vidhyashram. This initiative aims to provide students with a chance to better their academic records and address subject-specific challenges.
