TS POLYCET 2026 Registration Commences for Diploma Programmes in Telangana
The State Board of Technical Education and Training (SBTET), Telangana has officially launched the online registration process for the TS POLYCET 2026 examination. This entrance test serves as the gateway for students aspiring to secure admission into various three-year diploma courses across the state.
Application Process and Key Deadlines
The online application window opened in early February 2026 through the official portal: polycet.sbtet.telangana.gov.in. Candidates are required to complete the application form by providing accurate personal and academic details, along with uploading necessary documents such as a recent passport-size photograph and signature as per specified guidelines.
The standard registration period will conclude on April 20, 2026, without any late fee. However, for those who miss this deadline, provisions for late registration are available:
- Applications with a late fee of Rs 100 will be accepted on April 21, 2026.
- A tatkal fee of Rs 300 will be applicable for submissions on April 22, 2026.
Eligibility Criteria for Applicants
To be eligible for TS POLYCET 2026, candidates must have successfully passed the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) or Class 10 equivalent examination from a recognised board. A minimum aggregate of 35% marks is mandatory for consideration.
Both regular pass candidates and those who have cleared compartment exams are eligible to apply. The examination is open to students seeking admission into diploma programmes in diverse fields including:
- Engineering
- Agriculture
- Horticulture
- Animal Husbandry
- Related technical streams
Successful candidates can gain entry into government, government-aided, and private polytechnic institutes across Telangana.
Examination Structure and Fee Details
The TS POLYCET 2026 entrance examination is scheduled to be conducted on May 13, 2026. It will be administered in offline (paper-based) mode at designated examination centres throughout Telangana.
The exam duration will be 2 hours and 30 minutes, featuring approximately 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) from core subjects:
- Mathematics
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Biology
Each correct answer will carry one mark, with no negative marking for incorrect responses. The application fee structure is as follows:
- General candidates: Rs 500
- SC/ST candidates: Rs 250
Following the examination, SBTET will release an official answer key and declare the results. This will be followed by a comprehensive counselling process for seat allotment in various diploma programmes.
