In a significant move to support education, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has extended its midday meal scheme to day-scholar students at a prominent women's college in Tirupati. The initiative was officially launched by TTD Chairman B R Naidu on Wednesday, marking a new chapter in the temple trust's welfare activities.
Launch Event and Academic Praise
The launch ceremony took place at Sri Padmavathi Women's Junior College during the institution's annual day celebrations. Addressing the gathering, Chairman B R Naidu commended the college for its outstanding academic performance, highlighting that it had achieved a 97 per cent pass rate in the previous year's examinations. He expressed his confidence in the students and urged them to aim for a perfect 100 per cent result this year, thereby bringing further fame to the TTD-run institution.
A Personal Journey of Inspiration
Sharing his own life story to motivate the young women, Naidu recounted his humble beginnings. He was born into an ordinary farmer's family in Chittoor district and faced numerous challenges on his path. Through unwavering determination and hard work, he rose to become the chairman of one of the world's richest temple trusts. His core advice to the students was clear: set a definitive goal in life and pursue it relentlessly without looking back.
Substantial Benefits and Future Infrastructure
The newly launched scheme is set to have an immediate and tangible impact. Approved by the TTD board, the free midday meal program will benefit a total of 436 day-scholar students at the junior college, easing financial burdens on their families and encouraging regular attendance.
In addition to the meal scheme, Chairman Naidu announced another major approval from the TTD trust board. Plans are now in place for the construction of additional hostel blocks to provide adequate and improved accommodation for the girl students. This move addresses the growing need for residential facilities and underscores TTD's commitment to women's education.
The event was attended by several TTD board members, including G Bhanu Prakash Reddy, Panabaka Lakshmi, Santharam, and Naresh Kumar, who joined the chairman in celebrating the college's achievements and supporting its future growth.
