UP Board Class 10 and 12 Results Anticipated in Late April as Evaluation Wraps Up
The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) is set to declare the Class X and XII board exam results in the last week of April, with the evaluation process nearing completion across Noida and Ghaziabad districts. The assessment, which commenced on March 18, involved approximately 2,000 teachers deployed at various evaluation centers in these regions.
Evaluation Progress and Deadlines
According to education officials, Ghaziabad has successfully evaluated all 2.3 lakh answer sheets assigned to it. In Noida, nearly all of the 1.7 lakh copies have been assessed, with only about 1,000 remaining to be checked along with final documentation formalities. The deadline for Noida has been extended until April 4 to ensure thorough completion.
Once the process concludes, the evaluated answer sheets will be dispatched to the board headquarters for further processing and result compilation, stated a senior education official familiar with the operations.
Improved Student Performance Noted
Teachers involved in the evaluation exercise have observed an overall improvement in student performance this year. They attribute this positive trend to the implementation of mock tests and pre-board examinations that closely mirrored the format of the final board papers.
The students appeared more familiar with the question patterns and structure, which likely contributed to better outcomes, remarked a teacher from a Ghaziabad evaluation center.
Unusual Messages on Answer Sheets Raise Concerns
Despite the academic progress, evaluators have flagged disturbing messages written by some students on their answer sheets, allegedly seeking lenient marking. Teachers reported encountering several copies with special requests, including instances where students provided their mobile numbers and asked examiners to contact them.
In some cases, students promised to transfer money digitally as guru dakshina if they were assisted in passing the exams. Such messages were most commonly found in mathematics, science, and English papers.
Additionally, students cited personal reasons such as deaths in the family or upcoming marriages while pleading for extra marks, according to another teacher involved in the assessment.
Looking Ahead
As the evaluation phase draws to a close, authorities are focusing on ensuring accuracy and integrity in the marking process. The anticipated declaration of results in late April will mark a significant milestone for thousands of students awaiting their academic outcomes.
