UP Board Announces Critical Two-Day Window for Pending Class 12 Practical Marks
The Board of Secondary Education Uttar Pradesh (UPMSP) has taken decisive action to address a significant administrative oversight by announcing a special two-day window on April 6 and 7, 2026. This initiative is specifically designed to allow schools to upload pending Class 12 (Intermediate) practical examination marks, following widespread lapses in internal submissions that have impacted tens of thousands of students across the state.
Widespread Impact on Student Results
According to an official release issued by Secretary Bhagwati Singh, the results of a staggering 34,637 candidates have been adversely affected due to incomplete mark uploads. This issue spans across 652 practical examination centers throughout Uttar Pradesh, highlighting a systemic failure in the submission process. The board's review revealed that while external examiners had successfully uploaded their marks, numerous internal examiners failed to submit marks through school logins, creating critical discrepancies and preventing complete result processing.
Timeline of the Practical Examinations
The Intermediate practical examinations for the 2026 academic session were conducted in two distinct phases. The first phase ran from January 24 to February 1, followed by the second phase from February 2 to February 9. In an effort to accommodate pending assessments, the board extended the initial deadline to February 13. Despite this extension, the persistent failure of internal examiners to upload marks has necessitated this extraordinary intervention.
Final Opportunity for Compliance
In response to this crisis, the UPMSP has decided to reactivate its official portal (upmsp.edu.in) for a strictly limited period. Internal examiners have been explicitly directed to upload all remaining marks using the link available on the homepage within the stipulated dates of April 6 and 7, 2026. The board has issued unequivocal instructions, emphasizing that failure to upload the pending marks within this critical window will result in affected students being declared failed, with no further extensions granted.
Accountability and Responsibility Framework
The UP Board has established a clear accountability framework to ensure compliance. In cases of non-compliance, full responsibility will be placed on the concerned internal examiner, the school principal, and the District School Inspector (DIOS) for negligence and lack of supervision. This move is strategically aimed at safeguarding student interests and ensuring that no candidate is unfairly penalized due to administrative lapses or procedural failures.
This intervention underscores the board's commitment to maintaining academic integrity and fairness in the evaluation process, while addressing the urgent needs of thousands of students whose futures hang in the balance.
