22 UP Students Selected for Bengaluru Educational Tour, ISRO Visit Possible
UP Students Head to Bengaluru for Science Exposure Tour

22 Uttar Pradesh Students Embark on Bengaluru Educational Journey

A group of twenty-two talented students from the Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Mirzapur divisions in Uttar Pradesh has been selected for a comprehensive four-day exposure visit and educational tour to Bengaluru, scheduled for the final week of this month. This initiative aims to provide hands-on learning experiences at premier scientific and historical sites.

Selection Through Science Excellence

The students earned this opportunity through their outstanding performance in a divisional-level science model exhibition and quiz competition organized under the Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan in February. Hemant Rao, Assistant Director of Basic Education for the Varanasi division, confirmed that two students from each district across the three divisions were chosen based on their excellence in the event.

"This tour is designed to inspire young minds by exposing them to India's leading scientific and cultural landmarks," Rao stated, highlighting the educational value of the trip.

Itinerary and Key Visits

During their stay in Bengaluru, the students will explore a variety of significant institutions and sites. The itinerary includes:

  • Bannerghatta National Park: Offering insights into biodiversity and conservation efforts.
  • Indian Institute of Science (IISc): One of the country's top research and education institutions in science and engineering.
  • Various sites of national and historical importance: Enhancing their understanding of India's cultural heritage.

Additionally, there is a strong possibility that the group will visit the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) centre. This potential visit would provide a unique opportunity for students to engage with space science activities and learn about India's advancements in aerospace technology.

Inspired by Precedent

This tour follows a similar successful educational excursion by students from Atal Residential Schools, who recently visited the ISRO centre. Such experiences have proven effective in motivating students and broadening their academic horizons.

Rao emphasized that the tour is not just about sightseeing but is a structured educational program aimed at fostering curiosity and innovation among the participants. "By visiting major scientific institutions, we hope to ignite a passion for science and technology in these young learners," he added.

The exposure visit is expected to enrich the students' knowledge, provide practical insights into scientific careers, and inspire them to pursue higher education in STEM fields. This initiative underscores the commitment to enhancing educational opportunities beyond the classroom for deserving students in Uttar Pradesh.
