UPPSC Announces Final Results for Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services Examination 2024
The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has officially released the final results of the highly anticipated Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services (PCS) Examination for the year 2024. According to a press release dated March 29, 2026, the Commission has recommended a total of 932 successful candidates for appointment to various administrative and service positions within the state government.
Examination Overview and Selection Process
This recruitment drive aimed to fill 947 notified vacancies spread across 24 distinct posts and services. The selection process involved multiple rigorous stages, beginning with the PCS Mains examination, the results of which were declared earlier on February 4, 2026. From that stage, 2,719 candidates qualified to proceed to the crucial interview round.
Interview Round Details: The interview phase was conducted over a period of nearly one month, from February 26 to March 23, 2026. During this stage, 21 candidates who had been shortlisted failed to appear for their scheduled interviews. Following directives from the Allahabad High Court in response to several petitions, the Commission also provisionally allowed two additional candidates to participate in the interviews through a notification issued on March 20, 2026.
Final Recommendations and Vacancy Status
After meticulously evaluating the combined performance of candidates in both the written examination and the personal interviews, the UPPSC has finalized its list of 932 recommended candidates. However, the Commission noted that 15 vacancies remain unfilled due to a lack of suitable candidates meeting the required standards. These vacancies include:
- 1 post of Administrative Officer
- 14 posts of Administrator
As per existing regulations, these 15 positions will be carried forward for future recruitment cycles.
Special Case: Deputy Jailor Post Selection
In a specific clarification, the UPPSC stated that the result for the post of Deputy Jailor was determined exclusively based on the written examination scores, without considering interview performance. For certain candidates who were declared successful but did not attend the interview, their selection has been marked as provisional.
This provisional status arises from discrepancies identified in their submitted educational qualifications, category details, or other relevant documents when cross-verified with original records. The Commission will conduct a separate, thorough verification process for these cases, and their final selection will be contingent upon successful validation of all required documents.
