Waqf Board's First International School in AP Launched in Nellore

In a significant step towards enhancing educational infrastructure, the foundation stone for the Dr APJ Abdul Kalam International School was laid in Nellore city on Sunday. This project marks a historic first for the state.

A Pioneering Educational Initiative

The ceremony was led by Nellore MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy, who was joined by State Municipal Administration Minister Ponguru Narayana and Andhra Pradesh Waqf Board Chairman Dr Abdul Azeez. The event took place at the Parameswar Nagar locality, setting the stage for a new educational landmark.

Addressing the media after the event, MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy highlighted the unique nature of the project. He stated that this would be the first international school in Andhra Pradesh to be established by the state's Waqf Board. He credited the state's leadership for driving educational reforms.

Substantial Investment and Broader Vision

The project involves a substantial investment of Rs 20 crore, which will be used to create a school with top-tier infrastructure. Reddy emphasized that the initiative is aligned with the government's focus on improving education standards and expanding access for children from economically weaker sections of society.

He specifically acknowledged the role of Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and State HRD Minister Nara Lokesh in introducing new reforms aimed at uplifting the quality of education across Andhra Pradesh.

Modernizing Education Across the State

Echoing the commitment to educational revival, Minister Ponguru Narayana spoke about the transformative power of education. He expressed confidence that the new school, built on Waqf board land, would open new avenues of learning for underprivileged communities.

Narayana also provided context on the government's broader efforts, recalling the successful revival of the historic VRC school, which had nearly become defunct. This revival was achieved with the support of HRD Minister Nara Lokesh. Building on this success, the minister revealed that 14 more schools in Nellore and across the state are currently being upgraded and modernized.

The establishment of the Dr APJ Abdul Kalam International School represents a concrete step towards bridging educational gaps and providing world-class learning opportunities in the region.
