WB ANM GNM 2026: Online Application Process Commences for Nursing Diploma Courses
The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) has officially initiated the online application process for the ANM(R) and GNM 2026 entrance examination. This critical step marks the beginning of admissions for nursing diploma courses across the state, with candidates invited to submit their forms through the official portal starting from March 25, 2026.
Notification and Course Details
The board has released a comprehensive notification and information bulletin outlining the admission procedure for the Auxiliary Nursing & Midwifery (Revised) and General Nursing & Midwifery courses. This entrance test is designed to facilitate admissions into ANM and GNM programs offered by both government and private institutes throughout West Bengal. The ANM course spans a duration of two years, while the GNM course extends over three years, providing foundational training in nursing practices.
Application Schedule and Correction Window
The application window will remain active until April 19, 2026, allowing ample time for prospective students to complete their submissions. Following this, a correction window has been scheduled from April 21 to April 23, 2026, during which applicants can make necessary adjustments to their details and download a revised confirmation page. It is important to note that certain details, including name, date of birth, parents’ names, and domicile, cannot be altered once the application is finalized. The information bulletin was officially released on March 24, 2026, one day prior to the commencement of the application process, and candidates are advised to adhere to the timeline to avoid any technical complications.

Admit Card and Examination Details
Admit cards will be accessible for download starting from June 4, 2026, and will remain available until June 14, 2026, up to 01:30 p.m. The examination is slated to be conducted on June 14, 2026, in a single shift from 12:00 noon to 01:30 p.m. It will be administered in an offline mode utilizing OMR sheets. The question paper will comprise two categories: Category 1 includes 85 questions, each carrying one mark, while Category 2 consists of 15 questions, each valued at two marks. A negative marking scheme applies, with one-fourth mark deducted for each incorrect answer in Category 1.
Eligibility Criteria and Application Fee
Eligibility requirements vary between the courses. For ANM courses, only female candidates are eligible to apply. In contrast, GNM courses are open to both male and female candidates. All applicants must have passed the Class 12 examination with a minimum aggregate of 40 percent marks from a recognized board. Additionally, candidates must demonstrate proficiency in reading, writing, and expressing themselves in Bengali and/or Nepali. Notably, no upper age limit has been specified for participation.
The application fee is structured as follows: Rs. 300 for candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, EWS, and Orphan categories, while all other candidates are required to pay Rs. 400. Payment can be conveniently made through multiple methods, including net banking, debit card, credit card, QR code, and UPI.
Exam Pattern and Result Announcement
The examination will cover a range of subjects, including Life Science, Physical Science, Basic English, Mathematics, General Knowledge, and Logical Reasoning. The test will consist of 100 questions totaling 115 marks. The result of the entrance examination will be declared at a later date, as per the official notification from the board, keeping candidates informed about their performance and subsequent admission prospects.
