XIM University Hosts 12th Postgraduate Convocation, Awards 813 Degrees
XIM University in Bhubaneswar celebrated its 12th postgraduate convocation on Friday at its new campus, conferring a total of 813 degrees. This included six doctoral degrees and 807 postgraduate qualifications across various schools such as business management, human resource management, rural management, sustainability, business finance, urban management, law, and economics.
The graduating batch saw top rank holders from each programme receiving medals in recognition of their academic excellence. The ceremony was graced by Nikhil Sawhney, vice-chairman and managing director of Triveni Turbine Ltd, who served as the chief guest. An alumnus of the University of Cambridge and The Wharton School, Sawhney has been instrumental in advancing global sustainable energy solutions. In honor of his contributions to industry and sustainability, the university awarded him an honorary doctorate in business management.
Vice-chancellor Fr K S Casimir presented the annual report, detailing the institution's achievements and its commitment to equipping students with skills for a rapidly evolving global economy. In his convocation address, Sawhney encouraged graduates to embrace innovation and uphold ethical leadership as they embark on their professional journeys.
IIT Bhubaneswar Confers Degrees on 802 Students at 14th Convocation
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar held its 14th convocation on Saturday, awarding degrees to 802 students for the academic year 2024-25. The graduating batch comprised 96 PhD scholars (12%), 177 MTech students (22%), 96 MSc students (12%), 102 dual degree (BTech and MTech) recipients (13%), and 325 BTech graduates (41%).
The event marked a significant milestone for students, faculty, and families. V S Ramamurthy, a Padma Bhushan awardee and former secretary of the department of science and technology, Government of India, attended as the chief guest. He emphasized the importance of excellence, urging students to remain committed to quality in all their pursuits. Shreepad Karmalkar, director of IIT Bhubaneswar, highlighted the institute's progress in research, innovation, industry-academia collaboration, and its expanding startup ecosystem.
DPS Kalinga Achieves Outstanding Results in CBSE Class X Exams 2026
Delhi Public School (DPS) Kalinga has reported an outstanding performance in the CBSE Class X Board Examinations 2026, with students delivering stellar results across subjects. Leading the batch, Anwesha Mohanty secured an impressive 99.8%, emerging as the second topper at both the national and state levels.
Akshara Rai followed as the second-highest scorer in the school with 99.4%. Anupam Sahoo, Anurag Singh, and Janwi Behera jointly secured the third position with 99.2% each, while Ashneel Routray stood fourth with 99%. The school noted that 102 students scored 90% and above. Pro vice-chairperson Mala Mishra and principal Suvabrata Mukherjee praised the students' dedication and hard work.
St Xavier's Cuttack Records 100% Pass Rate in CBSE Class X Exams 2026
St Xavier's Senior Secondary School in Nayabazar, Cuttack, achieved a perfect pass rate in the CBSE Class X Board Examinations 2026, with all 205 students clearing the exams. The school reported an impressive overall performance, with 24 students scoring above 95%, 56 securing more than 90%, and 78 students achieving above 80%.
Partha Pritam Pati emerged as the school topper with an outstanding 99.6%, which is also the highest score recorded in Cuttack and the district this year. Adyadha Biswal and Kirtiraj Pradhan jointly secured the second position with 97.8% each, followed by Sonakshi Lenka with 97.6%.
Fakir Mohan University Celebrates Annual Festival 'Unnmesh'
The postgraduate council of Fakir Mohan University (FMU) in Balasore organized its annual festival for 2025-26, titled Unnmesh, with enthusiasm and active participation from students across departments. The event was held under the chairmanship of vice-chancellor Santosh Kumar Tripathy.
In his presidential address, Tripathy stressed the importance of blending academics with literature, culture, and sports for the holistic development of students. Mahendra Kumar Mohanty, vice-chancellor of Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University in Baripada, attended as the chief guest. He highlighted the role of literary, cultural, and sports activities in shaping well-rounded individuals.
