The Association of Indian Universities (AIU) has selected Dr. Bala Lakhendra to serve as an AIU Observer for the 39th South Zone Youth Festival. This prestigious cultural gathering is scheduled to be held in Chennai from December 19 to 23. The appointment underscores Dr. Bala's standing in the academic and cultural spheres.
A Career Dedicated to Youth and Culture
The responsibility was conferred upon Dr. Bala based on his deep and longstanding involvement with youth festivals and various initiatives of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. His portfolio is impressive:
- He served as the Cultural Coordinator at Tezpur Central University for approximately seven years.
- He has held the position of Organising Secretary for several major youth festivals.
- In the years 2017, 2018, and 2019, he acted as the Team Manager for the BHU university team in his capacity as the institution's Cultural Coordinator.
Under his guidance and leadership, BHU students have clinched numerous medals at both national and international youth festival competitions, showcasing a consistent record of excellence.
The Scope of AIU Youth Festivals
Explaining the significance of his role and the event, Dr. Bala highlighted that the Association of Indian Universities, in partnership with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, orchestrates a series of regional, national, and international youth festivals across India.
