BIMTECH Hosts Prestigious Hermes' Dialogue 6.0 Event with Global Focus
The Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH), a premier business school located in Greater Noida, India, successfully organized its annual flagship event, Hermes' Dialogue 6.0. This significant gathering was orchestrated by the PGDM-International Business program and serves as a vital platform for global dialogue where diverse ideas converge to foster meaningful international discourse and exchange.
Competition Results and Participating Institutions
The event culminated with Team LeBroom from the Indian Institute of Management Rohtak (IIM Rohtak) emerging as the overall winners. Team Magnus from the FORE School of Management secured the second position, while Team Strategy from Shri Ram College of Commerce achieved the second runners-up position. The national-level competition attracted participation from numerous premier business schools across India, recording an impressive 250+ registrations, with a total prize pool of ₹60,000.
Theme and Global Representation
This year's theme centered on the critical question: "Should Countries Prioritize Energy Independence to Ensure Global Energy Security Amid Rising Geopolitical Uncertainty?" This topic addressed a matter of growing significance in today's rapidly evolving global energy landscape. As energy has transformed from merely an economic resource into a powerful geopolitical tool, the theme resonated strongly with contemporary global challenges and diplomatic considerations.
The event featured representation from 12 different nations, including the United Arab Emirates, India, Indonesia, Brazil, Russia, Germany, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, China, Australia, the United States, and Japan, creating a truly international perspective on the discussions.
Competition Structure and Rounds
The competition comprised multiple rigorous rounds designed to test participants' capabilities. It began with an initial knowledge-based assessment hosted on the Unstop platform to evaluate cognitive agility and decision-making skills. This was followed by a case submission round that showcased analytical prowess and multidimensional thinking. The event culminated in a final round described as a battle of perspectives, where participants represented different nations and articulated their viewpoints on energy independence, simulating deliberations similar to those conducted at United Nations and G20 forums.
Distinguished Jury and Evaluation Criteria
The distinguished jury panel featured Mr. Rajeev Kher, IAS (Retd.), Former Commerce Secretary of the Government of India, and Mr. Sumanta Chaudhuri, IAS (Retd.), Principal Advisor for International Trade Policy at the Confederation of Indian Industry. Their evaluations were based on critical dimensions of international trade, diplomacy, and policy-making, ensuring a comprehensive assessment of participants' performances.
