CAT 2025: 12 Candidates Score 100 Percentile

The results for the highly competitive Common Admission Test (CAT) 2025 have been declared, revealing an elite group of top performers. The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode, which coordinated the exam, announced that 12 candidates achieved a perfect 100 percentile score this year.

Geographic and Demographic Breakdown of Top Scorers

Among the dozen candidates who secured the top rank, three hail from Delhi. The states of Haryana and Gujarat follow closely, with two top scorers each. Notably, one candidate from Uttar Pradesh has also clinched the 100 percentile mark. The remaining top ranks are distributed with one candidate each from Jharkhand, Odisha, Karnataka, and Maharashtra.

The gender distribution among the top 12 reveals 10 male and 2 female candidates. In a significant shift from traditional trends, nine of these top performers come from a non-engineering academic background, while only three have an engineering discipline.

High Performers in the 99.99 Percentile Bracket

Just below the perfect scorers, 26 candidates secured a 99.99 percentile. This group shows a stronger regional presence from states like Haryana, which contributed five candidates, and Rajasthan with three. Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra each have four candidates in this high-performing bracket.

This cohort includes 22 male and 4 female candidates. Discipline-wise, the trend reverses slightly here, with 12 candidates from engineering and 14 from non-engineering backgrounds. Furthermore, seven candidates from Uttar Pradesh are among the 26 who scored 99.98 percentile.

Exam Conduct and Candidate Participation

Announcing the results, Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, Director of IIM Kozhikode, stated, "This year's CAT exam was among the smoothest conducted in recent years. IIM Kozhikode feels privileged to have served as the coordinating institute and expresses its sincere gratitude, on behalf of all 22 IIMs, to all stakeholders for the seamless conduct of CAT 2025." He also congratulated all successful candidates for the next stages of admission.

Official data shows that out of 2.95 lakh registered eligible candidates, a total of 2.58 lakh finally appeared for the test. The gender split of appearing candidates was 1.61 lakh males, 0.97 lakh females, and nine transgender candidates.

The category-wise distribution of candidates was as follows:

  • General: 65.7%
  • EWS: 5.2%
  • OBC (Non-Creamy): 17.8%
