In a significant boost to healthcare education in the region, Medinirai Medical College and Hospital in Daltonganj is set to expand its academic offerings with two new specialized diploma programs.
New Paramedical Diploma Courses Announced
The institution is actively planning to introduce diploma courses for dialysis technicians and ICU technicians under its established paramedical teaching facility. This development aims to address the growing demand for skilled healthcare professionals in critical care areas.
Principal Dr P N Mahto confirmed the initiative, stating he has personally taken up the matter with the nodal officer, Dr Jitender Singh. The principal emphasized that the time is right to make these educational facilities available for aspiring paramedical professionals.
Administrative Process Underway
According to Principal Mahto, the nodal officer has provided assurance about forwarding the formal demand to initiate these courses. The request will be sent to the Jharkhand State Paramedical Council in Ranchi to officially begin the establishment process for both diploma programs.
The college's move represents a strategic expansion of its paramedical education portfolio, which already includes various healthcare programs.
Existing Paramedical Education Framework
Currently, admission into paramedical courses across Jharkhand follows a standardized process through the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examinations. This includes programs in anaesthesia, dentistry, operation theatre technology, hearing language and speech therapy, ECG technology, and medical laboratory technology.
The addition of dialysis and ICU technician courses will provide more opportunities for students pursuing careers in the vital healthcare sector while strengthening the state's medical infrastructure through better-trained professionals.
