Dr Duggal, aged 56, boasts an impressive academic and professional trajectory. She completed her MBBS in 1989, followed by an MD in general medicine in 1993 and a DM in cardiology in 1996, all from the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi. Further enhancing her expertise, she undertook a post-doctoral fellowship in cardiology at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London in 2000.
Her career includes significant roles such as serving as professor and head at Grant Medical College in Mumbai from 2014 to 2017. Since September 2017, she has been leading the cardiology department at AIIMS Rishikesh, where she has contributed to advancements in cardiac care and education.
