16 GEC Bhojpur Civil Engineering Students Land Rs 3 Lakh Jobs
GEC Bhojpur students get Rs 3 lakh jobs in online drive

In a significant achievement for technical education in Bihar, sixteen final-year civil engineering students from the Government Engineering College (GEC) in Bhojpur have secured coveted job offers from a prominent infrastructure firm. The students, from the 2022-26 academic batch, have been selected for the position of Graduate Engineer Trainee with an attractive annual package of Rs 3 lakh.

Digital Recruitment Drive Yields Results

The selection process, announced on Friday, was conducted entirely in online mode, showcasing a shift towards digital corporate hiring. According to Amritanshu Raushan, the Training and Placement Officer at GEC Bhojpur, the drive involved a rigorous two-stage process. It began with an online technical test, designed to evaluate core subject knowledge, followed by a personal interview to assess problem-solving skills and professional aptitude.

Out of the 51 civil engineering students who initially appeared for the technical assessment, 33 were shortlisted for the interview round. After the final evaluation, 16 candidates successfully received their offer letters. This structured approach ensured that only the most technically competent and well-rounded candidates were chosen for the role.

Training and Institutional Support

As per the company's policy, the newly selected graduates will first undergo a six-month structured training program. Upon successful completion of this training, they will be promoted to the full role of Graduate Engineer. This induction period is crucial for bridging the gap between academic learning and industry requirements.

The principal of GEC Bhojpur, Dr. Pankaj Srivastav, extended his congratulations to the successful students. He praised the efforts of the training and placement cell and stated that such outcomes are a direct reflection of the quality of technical education and the institute's strong focus on employability-oriented skills development.

A Focus on Placement Months

Highlighting the college's proactive approach, Placement Officer Amritanshu Raushan revealed that the months of January and February have been designated as special "placement months" for the institution. This strategic focus has already begun to yield results, and the momentum is expected to continue. The college has scheduled three more recruitment drives in the near future, aiming to provide similar opportunities for students from other engineering disciplines.

This successful placement drive underscores the potential of government engineering colleges in Bihar when supported by a dedicated placement cell and a curriculum aligned with industry needs. It also highlights the growing acceptance of online recruitment models, which allow firms to tap into talent from tier-2 and tier-3 cities efficiently.
