IIM Bangalore Concludes Successful Placement Season for 2024-26 Batch
The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) has announced the completion of its lateral and final placements for the Post Graduate Programme (PGP) and Post Graduate Programme in Business Analytics (PGPBA) Class of 2024-26. In a remarkable achievement, 596 students received a total of 664 job offers from 177 participating firms, showcasing robust demand for IIMB talent despite global economic uncertainties.
Management Consulting Dominates Placement Landscape
Management consulting emerged as the most sought-after career pathway, accounting for a significant 45% of all offers made during the placement process. This was followed by technology and product management roles, which contributed 15% of the offers, and investment banking, making up 11%. The institute highlighted that Accenture Strategy set a new benchmark by extending a record 94 offers, underscoring the strong industry-academia partnership.
Diverse Recruiter Base and Top Hiring Firms
This year's placement season saw around 35% of the recruiting firms being new to IIM Bangalore, indicating expanding corporate relationships. The top recruiters, based on the number of offers, included:
- Accenture, including Accenture Strategy (101 offers)
- Boston Consulting Group (29 offers)
- Bain & Company (23 offers)
- EY-Parthenon (23 offers)
- American Express (15 offers)
- Kearney (13 offers)
- Tata Consultancy Services (11 offers)

Leadership Insights on Placement Success
Prof Nishant Kumar Verma, chairperson of Career Development Services (CDS) at IIM Bangalore, commented on the smooth execution of the placement process. "Despite the global job market being in a state of flux, IIM Bangalore conducted the process seamlessly. We are delighted to report that the job offers exceeded expectations, both in terms of quantity and the diversity of roles across multiple sectors. Our ongoing investment in building strong industry linkages has yielded favorable outcomes for all stakeholders," he stated.
Tapas Ranjan Pati, head of CDS, emphasized the robust participation from a wide range of industries. "We witnessed active engagement from sectors such as fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), retail, e-commerce, conglomerates, fintech, healthcare, and manufacturing. A special highlight is Accenture Strategy's record number of offers, which demonstrates the high caliber of our students and the trust placed in IIMB by top employers," he added.
