Massive Turnout for IIT BHU Varanasi Placement Season
The prestigious Indian Institute of Technology in Varanasi has officially launched its 2025-26 placement season with an impressive participation of 1,701 students seeking career opportunities. The diverse cohort includes 1,100 BTech candidates, 550 students pursuing MTech and IDD programs, and 40 PhD scholars ready to embark on their professional journeys.
Strong Industry Confidence with Pre-Placement Offers
Even before the formal commencement of campus interviews, the institute witnessed remarkable industry confidence with 280 pre-placement offers (PPOs) extended to deserving students. This significant number of early offers serves as a powerful testament to the trust that corporate partners place in the talent emerging from IIT BHU Varanasi.
The placement drive's initial phase is scheduled to run from Monday through December 10, promising an intense period of recruitment activities. Approximately 330 leading national and international companies are expected to participate in this first phase, representing diverse sectors including core engineering, software development, analytics, and consulting services.
Leadership Support and Preparations
On the eve of the placement drive commencement, IIT (BHU) director Prof Amit Patra conducted a comprehensive review of placement preparations at Satish Dhawan Hostel. He was accompanied by key faculty members including Prof Sushant Kumar Srivastava, the training and placement cell coordinator, Dr Surya Dev Yadav as co-coordinator, Prof Rajesh Kumar (dean R&D), along with Prof Kishor P Sarwadekar and Prof Vinod Mishra.
During his interaction with students, Director Patra emphasized the importance of confidence and focus throughout the placement process. He acknowledged their persistent hard work and encouraged them to maximize this crucial opportunity. The institute leadership also expressed gratitude toward industry partners for consistently recognizing the capabilities of IIT BHU students and appreciated the dedicated efforts of the training and placement cell in strengthening industry-academia collaboration.
