IIT Kanpur Class of 1990 Marks 35 Years with Coral Jubilee Reunion and Major Pledge
The Class of 1990 from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, recently returned to their alma mater for a special Coral Jubilee Reunion, commemorating 35 years since their graduation. This significant event brought together alumni from various parts of India and overseas, providing a platform to reconnect with old classmates, revisit cherished campus memories, and reinforce their enduring bond with the institute.
Substantial Financial Commitment to Institutional Growth
As a highlight of the celebrations, the batch collectively announced a generous pledge of Rs 13.2 crore. This substantial contribution is earmarked to bolster the institute's academic programs, research endeavors, and student-centric initiatives. The reunion program featured interactive sessions with institute leadership, faculty members, and current students, alongside detailed presentations on ongoing developments in research, innovation, and infrastructure upgrades.
Alumni took the opportunity to share personal reflections on their formative years at IIT Kanpur, discussing the profound and lasting impact of their education and campus experiences on their professional and personal lives.

Prof Manindra Agrawal, Director of IIT Kanpur, expressed immense pride in the achievements and continued involvement of the Class of 1990. Reflecting on behalf of the batch, Rajeev Ranjan, the batch coordinator, highlighted the class's ongoing commitment. He noted that their earlier Silver Jubilee contribution of Rs 70 lakhs has since grown to Rs 1.5 crore and continues to fund scholarships, demonstrating a pattern of sustained support over the years.
