JAM 2026 Admit Card Release Postponed

In a recent development, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has announced a delay in the release of the Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) 2026 admit card. The organizing institute was originally scheduled to make the hall tickets available for download on Monday, January 6, 2026. However, candidates must now wait for a new date to be announced.

New Date and Official Channels for Updates

IIT Bombay has officially communicated the postponement to registered candidates. The institute has stated that the new date for downloading and printing the JAM 2026 admit card will be announced soon. All aspirants are strongly advised to regularly monitor the official JAM website and the JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS) portal for the latest information and further updates regarding the release.

The admit card is a mandatory document for entry into the examination hall. No candidate will be permitted to appear for the JAM 2026 exam without a valid admit card. Once available, the document will contain crucial details including the candidate's name, enrolment number, assigned test paper, exam centre address, exam date, and precise reporting time.

How to Download and Verify Your Admit Card

It is important to note that IIT Bombay will not send the admit card via post or email. The hall ticket will be available exclusively for download from the official JOAPS portal. Candidates will be responsible for downloading and printing a clear copy for themselves.

Follow these steps once the admit card is released:

  1. Visit the official JAM website and navigate to the JOAPS login link.
  2. Enter your valid enrolment ID or registered email ID along with your password.
  3. Locate and click on the 'Admit Card' option.
  4. Download the JAM 2026 admit card in PDF format.
  5. Take a clear, high-quality printout for use on the exam day.

Candidates must meticulously verify all personal and exam-related details printed on the admit card. Any discrepancy should be reported to the authorities immediately. Ensure all text and photographs are clearly visible on the printed copy.

JAM 2026 Exam Schedule and Pattern

The JAM 2026 examination is scheduled to be held on Sunday, February 15, 2026. The test will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode across various science subjects. The question paper will feature a mix of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), Multiple Select Questions (MSQs), and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.

JAM serves as the gateway for admission to prestigious postgraduate science programmes like MSc, MSc-PhD dual degrees, and other PG courses offered by the IITs, the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru, and other participating institutes.
