Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has officially launched its detailed prospectus for the upcoming academic session of 2026–27. This comprehensive 150-page document serves as an essential guide for prospective students seeking admissions across a wide range of programs, including undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, certificate, and advanced diploma courses.

Official Launch and Key Details

The prospectus was formally released today by Vice Chancellor Prof. Mazhar Asif, alongside Registrar Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi and Controller of Examinations Prof. Ahteshamul Haque. This significant publication outlines crucial information for applicants, including eligibility criteria, application procedures, entrance examination details, admit card issuance, syllabi, test center locations, fee structures, and result declaration timelines.

Online admissions for all programs have commenced today through the official JMI portal, marking the beginning of the application process for the 2026–27 academic year.

Thirty New Academic Programs Introduced

In a major expansion of its academic offerings, JMI has introduced thirty new programs for the upcoming session. Controller of Examinations Prof. Ahteshamul Haque confirmed this significant development, which includes diverse courses across multiple disciplines.

The new undergraduate programs feature B.A. (Hons) Japanese Studies, B.A. (Hons) German Studies, B.A. (Hons) Uzbek Language, Literature & Culture, and B.A. (Hons) Human Resource Management. Additionally, the university has launched B.Tech. in Robotics & Artificial Intelligence and Civil Engineering (Construction Technology).

Postgraduate offerings have been enhanced with M.Sc. programs in Biosciences, Biotechnology, Botany, and Biophysics, along with M.Tech in Material Science & Technology. The law faculty expands with new LLM programs in Criminal, Corporate, and Personal Law.

Other notable additions include an Advanced Diploma in Child Guidance and Counselling, certificate courses in painting and calligraphy, B.Voc. in Molecular Diagnostics, and a Master of Hotel Management program.

No Fee Increase and NEP Implementation

In welcome news for students, JMI has confirmed that there will be no increase in fees for any course during the 2026–27 academic session. This decision comes alongside the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, with admissions under the Multiple Entry Mode for Four-Year Undergraduate Programs (FYUP) beginning this session.

The FYUP framework provides greater flexibility for students, allowing them to enter and exit programs at various stages while earning appropriate certifications.

Expanded Test Centers and International Fee Revisions

To improve accessibility for applicants across India, JMI has expanded its entrance test centers from eight to eleven locations. The new additions include Jaipur, Dehradun, and Kishanganj, joining existing centers in Delhi, Lucknow, Guwahati, Patna, Kolkata, Srinagar, Calicut, and Bhopal.

The university has also revised its fee structure for international students, introducing region-wise differentials. This new system applies specifically to students from SAARC countries, West Asia, Africa, and Latin America, making education more accessible to international applicants.

Application Deadlines and Important Dates

Online applications for programs requiring entrance tests will remain open until March 25, 2026. For programs based on national examinations including JEE Mains, NATA, NEET for BPT, NCET, and CUET, admissions will stay open for ten days after results are declared.

Applications for FYUP programs for vacant seats will be accepted until April 10, 2026, providing additional opportunities for prospective students.

University Leadership Emphasizes Academic Excellence
