The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has issued a crucial update for medical aspirants by releasing the revised provisional seat allotment results for the third and mop-up round of UG NEET 2025 counselling. This development brings much-needed clarity to thousands of candidates whose futures were in limbo following a legal challenge.
High Court Directive Leads to Revised List
The announcement comes directly in response to an order from the Karnataka High Court. The court had directed the KEA to reprocess the results after several candidates contested the provisional list initially declared on October 24. The HC had instructed the authority to halt any further processing based on the earlier results until a final ruling was made.
Following the court's decision, KEA reran the entire seat allocation algorithm from scratch. H Prasanna, the Executive Director of KEA, provided details, stating that all eligible candidates were considered for the 443 new MBBS seats added across nine colleges specifically for this third round. Interestingly, out of the 443 candidates allotted these new seats, 301 had already secured a seat in either the first or second round of counselling. Consequently, the 301 seats vacated by these candidates have also been included in the fresh allotment process.
How to Check Your Revised Provisional Result
Candidates can now access their updated provisional allotment status by following a simple online process. The KEA has mandated that any objections to the revised list must be sent via email to keauthority-ka@nic.in by 3 pm on December 7.
The step-by-step guide to check the result is as follows:
- Visit the official KEA portal: https://cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/
- Navigate to the 'UG NEET 2025' section on the homepage.
- Click on the link designated for the 'revised third-round provisional results'.
- Enter your required credentials, such as your CET number.

Critical Deadlines for Seat Acceptance and Reporting
KEA has confirmed that the final allotment results will be published on Monday, December 9. The authority clarified that seat allocation considered all vacancies available at the start of round three, along with seats cancelled for various reasons until December 5, and any remaining seats post-allocation, adhering to standard rules.
For candidates who receive a seat in this final round, immediate action is required. They must pay the prescribed fee by December 10, after adjusting any amount previously paid to KEA. Subsequently, they need to download the confirmation slip and physically report to their allotted college by December 11 to secure their admission.
PG Medical Admissions Deadline Extended
In a related development, KEA has also shown flexibility for postgraduate medical aspirants. The admission deadline for PG medical courses has been extended to December 8 for students impacted by recent IndiGo flight cancellations. Choice registration will remain open until 11 am on December 8. Candidates must complete fee payment by 12:30 pm if they selected Choice-1 or Choice-2. Those allotted under Choice-1 have a further deadline to submit original documents at the KEA office by 2:30 pm on the same day, after which they can download their admit card and proceed to report to the college.
