Lucknow University's newly formed Meritorious Student Council (MSC) for the 2025-26 term has officially presented its student-centric vision. The council, which was constituted recently, aims to significantly improve campus life, foster stronger communication with the university administration, and tackle pressing academic and infrastructural issues.
Core Priorities and Official Mandate
The council has identified four key pillars for its tenure: participation, accountability, welfare, and academic enrichment. These principles will guide all its initiatives and interactions. According to Dean of Students' Welfare, VK Sharma, the MSC was established to provide students with a genuine representative body. He emphasized that the council is meant to act as the authentic voice of the student community on campus and contribute to building a more responsive academic environment.
Bridging the Gap Between Students and Administration
MSC President Ayushi Jaiswal stated that the primary objective of the council is to function as an effective bridge. "Our council will work as a strong link between the students and the LU administration," Jaiswal said. She added that this role is crucial to ensure that student concerns are heard and addressed properly. The council also plans to focus on increasing student involvement in extracurricular activities to ensure holistic development.
Echoing the commitment to addressing basic amenities, Vice-president Shreya Verma highlighted that the council will not shy away from raising day-to-day issues. "Matters such as ensuring regular cleaning of toilets will be actively raised by the council," Verma affirmed, signaling a hands-on approach to campus welfare.
First Meeting and Action Plan
The council has scheduled its first official meeting for December 18. This pivotal session will be used to finalize the council's detailed agenda, pinpoint priority issues that need immediate attention, and draft a structured plan of action for the coming months. The outcomes of this meeting are expected to set the tone for the council's operational strategy and its initial projects aimed at enhancing the Lucknow University experience for all students.
