The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at the Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT) in Allahabad, now officially Prayagraj, has achieved a remarkable milestone during the ongoing placement season. A student from the BTech batch secured the highest package of the season at an impressive Rs 74 lakh per annum, offered by the prestigious global firm DE Shaw & Co. This offer stands out as one of the most prominent in Phase-I of the placements for the current academic year.
Expanding Industry Engagement and Record Participation
According to official statements from the institute, a key highlight of this placement season has been the significant increase in participation from new recruiters. This trend underscores MNNIT Allahabad's growing industry engagement and enhanced visibility on both national and international platforms. More than 250 companies actively took part in the Phase-I placement process, with over 100 of them being first-time recruiters, reflecting a robust and diverse recruitment drive.
Diverse Roles and Leading Recruiters
The participating organisations offered a wide array of roles spanning multiple sectors, including software engineering, data science, analytics, consulting, finance, and core engineering. Among the leading recruiters were prominent names such as DE Shaw, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, American Express, Oracle, PhonePe, Nutanix, Cleartrip, Teradata, Eternal, Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, and HSBC, among others.
Strong Performance Across Engineering Disciplines
While the CSE department recorded the top package, students from other engineering disciplines also secured notable offers, contributing to an overall robust placement outcome. Departments such as Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, and Production and Industrial Engineering saw successful placements, showcasing the institute's comprehensive academic strength.
Impressive Salary Statistics and Overall Offers
During Phase-I, the average package for CSE students stood at Rs 28 lakh per annum, indicating a healthy compensation trend. A total of 34 students received offers of Rs 50 lakh per annum or above, while 88 students secured packages ranging between Rs 35 lakh and Rs 50 lakh per annum. Overall, around 800 offers were made to undergraduate and postgraduate students combined, demonstrating a strong start to the placement season.

Congratulating the students on their achievements, Director RS Verma expressed optimism about the placement outcomes. He noted that the strong beginning of Phase-I and the increased participation of new recruiters reflect the institute's academic excellence and industry relevance. Verma expressed confidence that placement results would further improve in the upcoming phases, building on this positive momentum.
