In a prestigious ceremony held at Dimapur, Nagaland University has conferred Lifetime Achievement Awards upon five distinguished academicians. This honor was presented during the inaugural event of the International Conference on Chemistry in Multidisciplinary Research (ICCMR–2026), which took place from February 18 to 20 at the I Ihoshe Kinimi Hall in Lumami.

Recognition of Outstanding Contributions

The awards were bestowed upon Professor AK Mallik, Professor VS Raja, Professor MA Quraishi, Professor M Indira Devi, and Professor Nitin Chattopadhyay. These accolades recognize their exceptional and sustained contributions to the field of chemical sciences and allied disciplines, highlighting their impact on both academic research and practical applications.

Profiles of the Award Recipients

Professor AK Mallik, a distinguished professor at Punjabi University in Patiala, is celebrated for his pioneering work in materials chemistry, nanotechnology, and surface science. His research on nanomaterials and electrochemical sensors has led to significant advancements in energy storage solutions and environmental monitoring technologies.

Professor VS Raja from IIT Bombay has gained international acclaim for his expertise in corrosion science and engineering. His research group has provided critical insights into corrosion mechanisms and developed effective protection strategies that are widely implemented across various industrial sectors.

Professor MA Quraishi, formerly of IIT-BHU Varanasi, is a global authority in corrosion science and green chemistry. He is credited with developing eco-friendly corrosion inhibitors and has authored more than 380 publications, which have garnered over 15,000 citations, underscoring his influence in the scientific community.

Professor M Indira Devi, a senior professor at Nagaland University, has specialized in physical chemistry, with a focus on lanthanide complexation and nanomaterials. She has also served as the dean of the school of sciences, contributing significantly to academic leadership and administration.

Professor Nitin Chattopadhyay, a former professor and dean at Jadavpur University in Kolkata, is renowned for his research in photophysics, photochemistry, and fluorescence sensing. He continues to make valuable contributions as a CSIR emeritus scientist, furthering scientific knowledge in these areas.
