Nagpur University's BTech Results Portal Plagued by Technical Glitches
Technical glitches have once again disrupted the declaration of BTech Semester IV results at Nagpur University (NU), leaving hundreds of engineering students in a state of confusion and heightened anxiety. The results for several fourth-semester courses were released late on Monday evening, but many students encountered significant issues while trying to access their marksheets or even locate their roll numbers on the university's official portal.
Widespread Portal Malfunctions and Student Frustration
Numerous students reported encountering a persistent "failed to load marksheet" error when attempting to access their results online. In many alarming cases, roll numbers were entirely missing from the gazette that was uploaded on the NU website. Some students discovered that entering different roll numbers repeatedly displayed the same marksheet, leading to further bewilderment.
Screenshots shared by students on social media platforms clearly showed identical marksheets appearing against multiple roll numbers, intensifying the chaos. "The gazette itself is faulty. In some branches, roll numbers are not shown at all. In others, whichever roll number you enter, the same result appears," explained a final-year engineering student from the Computer Science Engineering branch.
University's Response and Lack of Clarity
NU deputy registrar Manish Zodpe, who currently holds additional charge of the examination section, stated that if a result is withheld, the marksheet will not be displayed on the portal. However, he was unable to provide an explanation for how the marksheet of one student was appearing repeatedly against different roll numbers. "I will have to check the system. If there is any complaint, it will be resolved," Zodpe commented.
Students, however, have alleged that the gazette carried no remarks such as "withheld," "pass," "fail," or instructions to contact the college—details that are typically mentioned in such scenarios. "There is no clarity at all. When we contacted our colleges, they asked us to approach the examination section, which in turn, told us to check with the colleges. Everyone is passing the blame," a frustrated student revealed.
Compounding Delays and Academic Concerns
Adding to their mounting frustration, some students were informed that they would have to wait until the tabulation register (TR) for the results is prepared—a process that could take an additional 10 to 15 days. This delay has raised serious concerns, particularly for students who urgently need their results for internships, higher education admissions, and campus placements.
The issue has further angered the student community as the BTech results were already delayed, while winter examinations were also conducted inordinately late this academic year. "Academic calendars are already disrupted. Now such errors are adding to our mental stress," another student expressed, highlighting the broader impact on their academic and professional trajectories.
The recurring technical problems at Nagpur University's examination portal underscore systemic issues that need immediate attention to prevent further disruptions and ensure timely, accurate result declarations for all students.
