Patna University Alumni Reunion Brings Together Generations for Nostalgic Celebration

In a heartwarming event that bridged decades of academic history, Patna University (PU) organized a grand alumni reunion at Magadh Mahila College on Sunday. The gathering saw nonagenarians and octogenarians, including 98-year-old Keshav Pratap Singh and 96-year-old Shashidhar Singh, reuniting with old batchmates, juniors, and current students to reminisce about their campus days and honor the institution's impressive 108-year legacy.

Defying Age with Joy and Camaraderie

The attendees, numbering over a dozen in the nonagenarian and octogenarian age groups, enthusiastically participated in the festivities. Some alumni, including women, even joined in musical chair events, showcasing a spirited defiance of age-related constraints. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and shared stories as they reconnected, highlighting the enduring bonds formed during their time at Patna University.

Prominent Figures and Resolutions for Future Support

The event was graced by several distinguished personalities, underscoring its significance. Notable attendees included Patna University vice-chancellor Namita Singh, Bihar DGP Vinay Kumar, former DGP Alok Raj, Patna High Court justice Sanjay Kumar, Bihar State University Service Commission chairman Girish Kumar Chaudhary, Bihar Religious Trust Board chairman Ranbir Nandan, and higher education director Navin Kumar Agrawal.

A general body meeting of the alumni association was conducted under the chairmanship of former PU vice-chancellor Rash Bihari Prasad Singh. During this meeting, alumni unanimously resolved to extend all possible support to present students in their academic pursuits and career growth, reinforcing a commitment to nurturing future generations.

Cultural Programs and Warm Welcomes

To add to the celebratory mood, a musical programme was organized, providing entertainment and fostering a sense of community. Magadh Mahila College principal N P Verma welcomed the participants with open arms, while the association's general secretary, Atul Aditya Pandey, proposed a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude for the successful event.

This reunion not only served as a nostalgic trip down memory lane but also strengthened the alumni network, promising continued collaboration and support for Patna University's ongoing mission in higher education.
