Patliputra University (PPU) is set to host its much-anticipated annual convocation ceremony later this month. The event will be held at the S K Memorial Hall in Patna on January 29, with the Governor of Bihar and chancellor of state universities, Arif Mohammed Khan, presiding as the chief guest.
Grand Felicitation for Postgraduate Achievers
The university administration, following a recent meeting chaired by Vice-Chancellor Upendra Prasad Singh, has finalized the arrangements. According to PPU's Examination Controller, Manoj Kumar, approximately 1,000 postgraduate students from the 2025–27 academic session are expected to participate in the ceremony.
A key highlight will be the honouring of academic excellence. Toppers from 24 different disciplines across the arts, science, and commerce regular postgraduate streams will be presented with gold medals. This recognition will also extend to students from vocational postgraduate courses.
Degrees and Vocational Course Awards
In addition to the medal ceremony, the university will felicitate top performers from vocational programmes including MBA, MCA, MSc Biotechnology, and MEd. The convocation will also be a momentous occasion for nearly 500 students who will receive their degree certificates. This group includes a significant number of 70 PhD awardees who will be conferred their doctoral degrees.
Manoj Kumar added that the university will soon activate a registration link for eligible students on its official website, expected to go live within a day or two, to streamline the process for attendees.
Examination Schedule in Parallel
While preparations for the convocation are in full swing, PPU is also concurrently managing its examination schedule. The undergraduate (UG) Semester III examinations are slated to be held from January 17 to 22. These exams will be conducted in two sittings daily—from 10 AM to 1 PM and from 2 PM to 5 PM—across various examination centres located in Patna and Nalanda districts.
Furthermore, the postgraduate first-semester examinations have already commenced this week, starting from Monday, and will continue until January 9. University officials have assured that all necessary preparations are underway to ensure both the examinations and the grand convocation ceremony are conducted smoothly and without any hiccups.
