In a significant step to promote India's ancient linguistic heritage, a new Sanskrit Study Centre was officially opened on Sunday at the University College of Engineering and Technology (UCET) in Hazaribag.
A Grand Inauguration with Traditional Fervor
The ceremony commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp, creating an auspicious atmosphere. This was followed by the resonant chanting of Vedic mantras, setting a spiritual and academic tone for the event. Ashish Kumar Saha, the Director of UCET, extended a unique and eco-friendly welcome to the distinguished guests by presenting them with saplings.
Leadership Emphasizes Sanskrit's Modern Relevance
Chandra Bhushan Sharma, the Vice-Chancellor of UCET, delivered a powerful address highlighting the profound knowledge contained within Sanskrit. He asserted that complete knowledge is embedded in the language and that solutions to many contemporary challenges can be discovered in ancient Sanskrit scriptures.
Addressing Challenges in Sanskrit Education
The event also featured insights from Sanskrit scholar Nakul Pandey, who acknowledged the difficulties faced in teaching Sanskrit at many institutions. He praised the initiative by the Central Sanskrit University, describing it as highly commendable for its potential to overcome these hurdles and revitalize interest in the language. This new centre, established under the umbrella of Vinoba Bhave University, represents a crucial bridge between India's rich past and its dynamic future.
