Tezpur University Students Excel at National Youth Festival in Chennai
Tezpur University has brought significant pride to Assam, as students from its Department of Mass Communication and Journalism achieved national acclaim at the National Youth Festival. This prestigious event was organized by the Association of Indian Universities and held in Chennai, drawing participants from universities across the country.
Outstanding Achievements in Debate and Music
After successfully advancing through the zonal rounds, Rahul Rohan Paul demonstrated exceptional talent by winning second prize in the English debate competition. He further showcased his versatility by securing second prize in Hindi elocution, highlighting his proficiency in both languages. In a display of musical excellence, Shashank Buragohain earned third prize in the western instrumental solo category, impressing judges with his skill among a competitive field of national contestants.
Team Composition and Significance of the Wins
The Tezpur University team comprised Rahul Rohan Paul from the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism and Manash Pratim Dutta from the School of Management Sciences. According to an official release from the university, this achievement is particularly noteworthy because these were the only events in which Tezpur University participated.
