Utkal University Implements Strict Campus Security Measures with Mandatory ID Cards
In a significant move to enhance campus security and maintain academic integrity, Utkal University in Bhubaneswar has announced that all students must carry their official identification cards at all times while on university premises. This new regulation, which took effect immediately, is designed to prevent unauthorized individuals from entering the campus and disrupting the educational environment.
Enhanced Security Protocols and Outsider Restrictions
The university issued a formal notification on Thursday, authorizing security personnel to conduct ID card checks at entry and exit points, as well as at random intervals throughout the campus. According to the notice, any unauthorized entry will be reported to the police, ensuring swift action against violators. A university official emphasized that this strict enforcement aims to curb the nuisance caused by outsiders who have been spoiling the university's atmosphere.
The official stated: "This step was taken to prevent the entry of outsiders who create nuisance and spoil the university atmosphere. We have rolled out strict enforcement of student ID card inspection and will take further steps to monitor if outsiders are still entering or staying in any of the hostels."
Additional Disciplinary Measures and Campus Conduct Rules
Beyond the ID card mandate, Utkal University has introduced several other rules to foster a conducive academic environment. Students are warned against unnecessary loitering on campus and engaging in behavior detrimental to the institution's educational goals. The university has also designated the entire campus as a zero-tolerance zone for tobacco products, intoxicants, and e-cigarettes.
