Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted a significant review of the ongoing construction at the permanent campus of Dr Rajendra Prasad National Law University (RPNLU) in Prayagraj on Saturday. The visit marks a crucial step towards the institution's planned relocation to its new home at Jhalwa.
CM Chairs Council Meeting, Interacts with Stakeholders
In his capacity as the chairperson of the university's general council, the Chief Minister held discussions with council members, faculty, and students during the visit. He received a detailed briefing on the physical and academic progress of the institution. Vice-Chancellor Prof Usha Tandon formally welcomed the CM, expressing gratitude for his consistent guidance and leadership, which she credited for the university's steady advancement.
Emphasis on Legacy, Law, and Timely Development
Addressing the gathering, CM Yogi Adityanath connected the new development to Prayagraj's ancient heritage as a premier learning centre. He stated that modern institutions like RPNLU are vital for carrying this legacy forward through contemporary legal education.
The CM underscored the critical importance of the rule of law in a democratic framework. He highlighted the unique responsibility of a national law university situated near the country's largest high court—the Allahabad High Court—in shaping the next generation of legal professionals. He stressed the need for lawyers who are not only competent but also ethical and socially responsible.
Outlining his vision for institutional growth, Yogi Adityanath insisted that development must be systematic, bound by deadlines, and focused on quality. He called for balanced attention to three core areas:

Expressing satisfaction with the current pace of work, the Chief Minister projected a clear timeline for the project's completion. He expressed confidence that if construction continues as planned, academic classes could commence at the new, permanent Jhalwa campus as early as August this year. This move is expected to provide students with vastly improved facilities and a conducive environment for legal studies.
