120 Bahadur: Hindi Cinema's First Paid Previews on Nov 18 Battle Anniversary
120 Bahadur Paid Previews on Nov 18 Before Release

In an unprecedented move for Hindi cinema, the makers of upcoming war drama '120 Bahadur' have announced special paid previews across India on November 18, exactly 63 years after the historic Battle of Rezang La took place.

Historic Previews for Historic Battle

Producer Ritesh Sidhwani revealed this groundbreaking announcement through social media platform X, calling it "a first for Hindi cinema". While the film officially releases on November 21, audiences nationwide will get to experience the emotional war drama three days earlier through these exclusive previews.

The strategic scheduling allows viewers to commemorate the heroic battle on the same date it occurred in 1962. Sidhwani emphasized that this initiative enables theatergoers to "experience the story on the same date as the battle", creating a powerful connection between the historical event and its cinematic portrayal.

The Story of Extraordinary Bravery

'120 Bahadur' brings to life one of the most remarkable chapters in Indian military history - the courageous stand of 120 soldiers from Charlie Company, 13 Kumaon Regiment during the Sino-Indian War. On November 18, 1962, these brave men defended the Rezang La pass in Ladakh against overwhelming Chinese forces.

The battle conditions were exceptionally challenging with the location situated at nearly 18,000 feet altitude, freezing temperatures, and the Indian soldiers being severely outnumbered. Despite these impossible odds, the soldiers held their ground with extraordinary determination.

When the battle concluded, 114 of the 120 soldiers had made the ultimate sacrifice, most dying at their posts without any signs of retreat. Their story remained largely unknown for years due to limited wartime communications, but later accounts revealed the true scale of their bravery and sacrifice.

Star-Studded Tribute to Heroes

The film features Farhan Akhtar in the lead role as Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, the commanding officer who led the defense at Rezang La. Major Singh was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra, India's highest military honor, for his exceptional leadership and courage.

Raashii Khanna appears in a cameo as Major Singh's love interest. The project brings together notable talents with Razneesh "Razy" Ghai directing, music composed by Amit Trivedi, and lyrics penned by Javed Akhtar.

Production credits go to Excel Entertainment and Trigger Happy Studios, with Farhan Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani, and Amit Chandra jointly producing the film. The recent trailer launch by KGF star Yash generated significant buzz around this anticipated war epic.

The Battle of Rezang La continues to symbolize resilience, discipline and unwavering patriotism in Indian military history. Through '120 Bahadur', the filmmakers aim to preserve the legacy of these extraordinary soldiers and bring their inspirational story to wider audiences across generations.
