Aamir Khan Confirms '3 Idiots 2' Is in Development

Aamir Khan has officially confirmed that a sequel to the 2009 blockbuster '3 Idiots' is in the works. In a recent interview, the actor shared exciting details about the highly anticipated follow-up to Rajkumar Hirani's classic film.

Aamir Khan Confirms '3 Idiots 2'

During an interview with Amar Ujala, Aamir revealed, "At this time, he is working on '3 Idiots 2'. I have heard that narration. It has turned out well. There is still more work to be done on the script, but the story is very good. It has the same humour and an unusual story. It is the same '3 Idiots' story, but set 10 years later." The actor also expressed his eagerness to reprise his role as Phunsukh Wangdu, the beloved character from the original film. "This is one of the films I will be working on soon… I think it's a beautiful story and Abhijat and Raju have written it very well. So I am also waiting to do that," he added.

Cast and Production Schedule

While Aamir did not reveal the exact production start date, he indicated that the sequel will be one of his next projects. Reports suggest that the film is likely to reunite the original cast, including Aamir Khan, R. Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, and Kareena Kapoor. Earlier in December, Sharman Joshi had expressed hope for a sequel, telling Hindustan Times, "On more than a couple of occasions, there has been buzz that the '3 Idiots' sequel is happening. The last time the reports came, it turned out to be for an ad campaign. Let's see, hopefully this time it's true."
