Aamir Khan Takes on Mumbai Marathon with Family Support

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan joined the Tata Mumbai Marathon on Sunday morning, running alongside his close family members. The star participated in the event to support two important causes - the Paani Foundation and the Agatsu Foundation.

Family Affair at the Marathon

Aamir Khan ran with what he called his "home run squad" - a group that included his ex-wife Kiran Rao, daughter Ira Khan, sons Junaid Khan and Azad, and son-in-law Nupur Shikhare. The family members took on different distances during the event, showing their collective commitment to fitness and charity.

Aamir, Kiran, Ira and Azad completed the 5.9 kilometer dream run, while Junaid tackled the 10 kilometer race. Fitness trainer Nupur Shikhare impressed everyone by running the full 42 kilometer marathon distance.

Daughter's Influence Revealed

During media interactions at the event, Aamir Khan made a surprising confession about his participation. "To be honest, I never even thought about it," the actor admitted. "My daughter Ira forced me here. She is the one who inspired everyone."

The 60-year-old actor expressed his excitement about participating in the marathon for the first time. He told reporters, "We are very happy and excited. People with disabilities and senior citizens have so much excitement, it inspired me to come here every year."

Fitness Philosophy Shared

Aamir Khan also discussed his approach to health and fitness during the event. "You are what you eat," he stated, emphasizing the importance of proper nutrition. The actor explained his three-part fitness mantra:

  1. A proper diet as the most important element
  2. Eight hours of good sleep
  3. Regular workout sessions

He added that without proper diet and sleep, gym workouts alone would not be effective.

Environmental Concerns Addressed

When questioned about Mumbai's air quality during the marathon, Aamir Khan acknowledged the pollution problem with a simple response. His former wife Kiran Rao expanded on the issue, stating that citizens need to understand the causes of poor air quality and raise their voices for change.
