Akshay Kumar Gets Rs 35-40 Crore for Golmaal 5 Cameo

Fans of the 'Golmaal' franchise were recently thrilled when the makers officially announced the fifth installment and revealed that Akshay Kumar would join the ensemble cast as a special addition. According to the latest reports, the 'Sooryavanshi' actor is commanding a massive fee for his appearance in Rohit Shetty's 'Golmaal 5'. Reports indicate that Akshay Kumar is being paid approximately Rs 35 to 40 crore for a shooting schedule spanning 18 to 22 days. This figure is reportedly higher than Ajay Devgn's upfront remuneration for the film, as Devgn is on a profit-sharing basis.

A source close to the production told IANS, 'Akshay Kumar is shooting for 18-22 days, and he is getting around 35-40 crores, which is more than Ajay Devgn's upfront fees because he is on a profit-sharing basis.'

Official Announcement and Behind-the-Scenes

Filmmaker Rohit Shetty officially announced 'Golmaal 5' in March while celebrating his 52nd birthday. Around the same time, reports surfaced that Akshay would be joining the franchise as a 'surprise package.' In behind-the-scenes clips shared by Shetty from the sets, Akshay's bald avatar from the film was also unveiled, generating significant buzz among fans.

Shooting in Ooty

On April 27, Ajay Devgn confirmed that a fresh shooting schedule for the comedy entertainer had begun. He shared a fun-filled video montage from Ooty featuring Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Sharman Joshi, Shreyas Talpade, and Kunal Kemmu. The 'Golmaal' franchise began with the first film starring Ajay Devgn, Tusshar Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, and Sharman Joshi alongside Rimi Sen and Paresh Rawal. The film is reportedly inspired by Harsh Shivsharan's Marathi play 'Ghar Ghar', which later inspired Vora's Gujarati play 'Aflatoon' — one of the creative influences behind the movie.

Franchise Legacy

Following the success of the original film, the franchise expanded with sequels including 'Golmaal Returns', 'Golmaal 3', and 'Golmaal Again'. Each installment has been a box office success, solidifying the series as one of Bollywood's most popular comedy franchises.

The actor shared a picture of himself standing confidently amid a dense jungle backdrop, dressed in a dark suit and sunglasses. The film is highly anticipated and adds to Akshay's busy schedule.
