Anil Kapoor Prioritizes Professionalism Over Dhurandhar 2 Cameo Role

Veteran Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor recently disclosed that he was compelled to turn down a cameo appearance in the highly anticipated film Dhurandhar 2. The actor confirmed that director Aditya Dhar personally approached him for a small role in the sequel, but Kapoor had to decline due to pre-existing professional commitments.

Commitment to Professionalism Guides Decision

In an exclusive conversation with India Today, Kapoor elaborated on his decision-making process. "Yes, Aditya came to me for Dhurandhar 2. He wanted me to do a small cameo in the film," Kapoor revealed. "But the reason I am what I am today is because of my professionalism and my commitment. That's very important—only talent cannot make you what you are."

The acclaimed actor emphasized that he had already allocated his shooting dates to another filmmaker when Dhar approached him. "At that time, I had already committed those dates to another filmmaker. I told Aditya, 'I would have loved to do this cameo, but I'm already committed.' He is releasing the film now, and it's a fantastic film. It's my loss, but it's okay," Kapoor stated with characteristic grace.

Industry Ethics and Future Collaboration Hopes

Kapoor further explained the ethical considerations behind his decision, highlighting the importance of maintaining professional integrity in the film industry. "At least I know in the back of my mind that it can happen to him as well—there could be another filmmaker who has just delivered a big blockbuster and offers me something when I'm already committed to Aditya," he reasoned.

The actor added a crucial perspective on industry dynamics: "If I then go and do that film and cancel his dates, that would be completely unprofessional. So yes, he did offer me the role, and hopefully we will work together in the future." This statement underscores Kapoor's long-standing reputation for reliability and ethical conduct in Bollywood.

Looking Beyond the Franchise

When questioned about potential involvement in a hypothetical third installment of the Dhurandhar series, Kapoor hinted at pursuing fresh creative avenues. "I think I will do something new. Kuch naya karunga (I will do something new)," he declared, suggesting his interest lies in innovative projects rather than franchise extensions.

Film Details and Kapoor's Recent Work

Dhurandhar 2 features an ensemble cast including Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi, and Sara Arjun in pivotal roles. The film is scheduled for theatrical release on March 19, generating significant anticipation among cinema enthusiasts.

Meanwhile, Anil Kapoor was most recently seen in Subedaar, a film directed by Suresh Triveni that co-stars Radhika Madan and Khushbu Sundar. The actor continues to maintain a busy schedule, balancing his commitment to existing projects while remaining open to future collaborations that align with his professional principles.

This incident serves as a noteworthy example of how established actors navigate multiple opportunities while upholding their professional ethics, even when it means passing on potentially exciting roles in major productions.
