AR Ameen Debuts with Bheegi Bheegi, Talks Musical Journey

AR Ameen, the son of legendary composer AR Rahman, has officially stepped into the music industry with his debut romantic track Bheegi Bheegi. The song is a collaboration with singer Jasleen Royal and features actors Dulquer Salmaan and Mrunal Thakur, marking a significant entry into Bollywood's playback singing scene.

Learning Music from a Legendary Father

In a recent interview, Ameen opened up about his musical journey, emphasizing how learning directly from his father, AR Rahman, has shaped his skills. He shared insights into their close-knit training sessions, which often occur during their travels.

"My dad uses the harmonium a lot," Ameen told Bollywood Bubble. "He always teaches me, and we travel together a lot; we were in Delhi, then we were in London. So whenever we are travelling, he always gives me some time from the schedule to teach me a few things."

Overcoming Challenges in Hindi Playback Singing

Recording his first Hindi track presented unique hurdles for Ameen, who had to navigate pronunciation and dialect nuances. He acknowledged the support he received from mentors and colleagues in mastering the language.

"I had people like Isra ji helping me, and from my studio, other Hindi-speaking people guided me on how to pronounce and how to pay respect to the language and the dialect," he explained. "It took me a few tries, but I hope I managed to do it."

Carving His Own Identity While Carrying a Legacy

Ameen also addressed the pressure of being AR Rahman's son, expressing his determination to forge his own path in the music industry. He highlighted the hard work and dedication required to build a distinct career.

"I'm starting with my own plant, and I have a long way to go. I have a lot of hard work to do," Ameen said. "My dad has worked with so many composers, he's done so many jingles and live shows. He has done a lot of work to be where he is right now, and obviously, God's blessings. So I have a lot of work to do, and I want to come up with my own path, and I don't want to compare or anything."

Debut Under His Own Label

With Bheegi Bheegi, AR Ameen is not only making his debut as a playback singer but also establishing his own musical identity under his label, Rooh Records. This move signifies his ambition to create a unique space in the industry, independent of his father's towering legacy.

The track has generated buzz among fans and critics alike, who are keen to see how Ameen's career unfolds. As he embarks on this journey, his blend of classical training and modern influences promises to add a fresh voice to Indian music.
